Summer Handwriting Classes

July 13th - August 5th

Summer is the perfect time for children to improve their handwriting for the next school year! Handwriting Success's summer classes provide a structured and fun program in an upbeat "camp" atmosphere.

In a typical 1 hour class, students alternate handwriting instruction with engaging activities that support growth in the foundation skills needed for handwriting

Foundation skills include: pencil grasp, fine motor, visual-perceptual motor, sensory awareness, eye-hand and gross-motor coordination, strength, attention and self esteem.

The child friendly Handwriting Without Tears program is an excellent curriculum for children of all ages.

Small class size allows for individual instruction within a group setting.

Class Offering:

Printing Class: Grades K-2

This class is for students who are ready to learn printing or to imprive printing habits. Some of these habits include pencil grip, letter formation, letter to line placement, sizing and spacing of letters. Printing speed will be addressed when appropiate for older children.

Cursive Class: Grades 3-5

In this class students will be provided with instruction to enchance cursive writing skills including: learning proper pencil grip, letter formation, placement of letters on the line, and connection strokes and when appropriate, handwriting speed and fluency.

Written Expression: 3rd Grade and Up

Students will learn techniques to assist with getting organized thought onto the paper. Children will practice various styles of writing including creative, persuasive, descriptive. Basic summarizing techniques will also be included. Class is scheduled as requested by parents.

11 Thru Teen Group

Students will be provided with instruction to enhance print and/or cursive writing skills. Foundation skills will also be addressed. When appropriate higher level writing skills (i.e. note taking, writing content organization) will be introduced. Class is scheduled as requested by parents.

Computer Keyboarding: 3rd Grade and Up

Enhance keyboarding skills through a structured keyboarding program. Homework will be provided to supplement training. Enjoy games on and off the computer to further encourage skill development. Class is scheduled as requested by parents.

Summer Handwriting Classes: July 13th - August 5th

Choose 4, 6 or 8 Tuesdays and Thursdays

Cost:

• 160$ for 4 classes
• $240.00 for 6 classes
• $300.00 for 8 classes

Classes and private sessions will be scheduled on Wednesdays, times according to student demand. Instruction on other days according to availability of the instructor.
